Before our first big trip to Europe, Jonathan’s business partner suggested something simple: film something every day. With a long history of photography and video already behind us, that sounded like a good idea. It snowballed pretty quickly.
What started as a record of a trip became a way to preserve this chapter of our life together: the places, certainly, but also the laughter, the detours, and who we are right now.
For future us.
And the people we love.
There’s an idea in The Notebook that stayed with us: a couple’s story, recorded so they can return to it together. We love the thought of sitting down together years from now to revisit these days.
We’re also making something for our children, and perhaps one day our grandchildren—a chance to know this version of us. The still-somewhat-youthful, middle-aged, fun version.
We hope the joy we find together inspires other couples to keep making time for each other.
Our marriage matters deeply to us. We hope that comes through in the ordinary moments of our videos, and encourages other couples to keep making time for each other. A big trip is one way. Choosing to enjoy life together is the part that travels home with us.
